Hajipur: East Central Railway received a total initial income of Rs 6837.16 crore with a significant increase in the income from all other sources including passenger traffic, freight, in the first quarter of the current financial year 2022-23 i.e. from April to June, 2022 as compared to the previous year. The initial income received till the month of June of the year is 25.61 per cent higher as compared to Rs 5443.22 crore in previous fiscal.
Whereas in June, 2022 alone, a total of Rs 2301.82 crore was received, which is 29.74 per cent more than the total income received in the same period of the previous year and this is highest in comparison to the income received in month of June of any year.
In the current financial year till June, an income of Rs 837.23 crore has been received from passenger traffic. This income is almost double as compared to Rs 417.66 crore received till June of last year. Whereas only Rs 274.48 crore was received from passenger traffic in June, 2022, which is 10.04 per cent higher than the income from passenger traffic of Rs 249.43 crore in the same period last year i.e. June, 2021.
Encouraging growth has been registered in the freight sector. In this sequence, freight loading of 46.05 million tonnes was done by East Central Railway till the month of June 2022-23, which is 11.84 per cent more than the 41.17 million tonnes in the corresponding period of last financial year. The income from this freight movement by East Central Railway was Rs 5817.08 crore, an increase of 17.55 per cent as compared to Rs 4948.49 crore in the previous year.
Whereas in June, 2022 alone, Rs 1986.06 crore was received from freight transportation, which is 32.93 per cent higher than the income of Rs 1494.05 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year i.e. June, 2021 and this income in the month of June of any year. higher than the income received. In the same sequence, an increase of 75.01 per cent was registered in the income received from other coaching and it stood at Rs 86.42 crore as compared to Rs 49.38 crore received from other coaching till June of the last financial year.
Whereas Rs 30.81 crore was received from other coaching only in June, 2022, which is 93.53 per cent more than the income received from other coaching in the same period last year i.e. June, 2021 from Rs 15.92 crore and this income in the month of June of any year. higher than the income received.
