Ranchi: CIL Chairman Gopal Singh inaugurated "Kayakalp Public School" – a school exclusively dedicated to the underprivileged children at Bukru village in Ranchi. This is a new CSR initiative of Central Coalfields Ltd.
Speaking on the occasion, Singh said, "Children of poor families have a right to study in an English medium school and we are committed to provide the best educational facilities to them by starting a school exclusively for the needy and downtrodden of the society. The infrastructure of the school will be the best and there will be no compromise on quality of teaching".
Talking about the teaching faculty, the Chairman said that retired employees and housewives, who are willing to teach these students voluntarily, will be given top priorities. He further said there will be opportunities for employees working in the company as well as retired teachers from different school to associate with this school.
On the inaugural day of school, Pramila Singh distributed school bags and took attendance of each student in presence to Chairman, Directors and retired employees.
Kayakalp Public School (KPS) has a strength of 30 students and follows the CBSE pattern of education, but with a difference. Once a student reaches the 9th standard, he / she will be imparted technical and skill development besides being coached for either the medical or engineering entrance exam.
