Burglars target house of cop’s in-laws, decamp with Rs 87-lakh valuables
The police received a call around 12.30 pm. The couple live a few metres from the Janakpuri police station.
The victims told the police that four persons, including a woman, knocked at their house’s door and introduced themselves as officials, who were verifying the identities for elections.
They were carrying some verification slips as well. When the couple opened the door, one of them overpowered them and pointed a pistol.
Meanwhile, the other three tied the couple and decamped with cash and jewellery worth over Rs 87 lakh. Their son-in-law Pramod is posted as a SI at the Janakpuri police station.
A case of robbery has been registered at the Janakpuri police station.
