BSE on Tuesday said it has become the world’s fastest stock exchange clocking a median trade speed of six <g data-gr-id="14">micro seconds</g>. The bourse, also the oldest in Asia, is already the country’s fastest exchange.
“BSE has become the fastest exchange in the world with a median response time of 6 <g data-gr-id="15">micro seconds</g>,” its Managing Director and CEO Ashishkumar Chauhan said in a tweet.
In a separate tweet, the exchange also said that it is now the world’s fastest exchange. The bourse’s <g data-gr-id="17">high speed</g> BOLT PLUS system is already the fastest trading platform in the country with a response time of 200 <g data-gr-id="16">micro seconds</g> for trade executed on it. The high speed or algorithmic trading refers to orders on bourses that are generated using high-frequency and automated execution logic.
In late 2013, the BSE had upgraded its technology platform to BOLT PLUS, which is based on the global giant Deutsche Boerse’s trading architecture.
