The concept papers would be discussed and their pros and cons would be analysed to make a foolproof plan. Once they are finalized they would be codified and used to set up intelligent cities.
The state government has proposed to set up 6 green field cities at Baruipur ( Uttam city), Howrah (Dumurjala), Birbhum ( Gitabitan), Siliguri ( Teesta) and , Asansol ( Agnibina). The state government has earmarked land for the projects and thepromoters will have to buy them through e-auction. It has been decided that the state government will provide the infrastructure upto the boundary wall of the proposed projects. It is a major shift from the usual practice where the promoter has to run from the pillar to post to install basis infrastructure. The concepts of planning of cities are changing fast with the residents enjoying more and more facilities.
