Bomb hoax creates panic at IGI

Update: 2013-02-27 23:19 GMT
A day after three suspicion-evoking bags created panic in the capital at separate places, the security officials at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport had a tough day on Tuesday when they received a warning about a bomb on an Indigo Airlines flight. The call, later, turned out to be a hoax. ‘The call was received around noon. The caller told security officers on phone that there was a bomb on the Delhi-Patna Indigo flight,’ said R A Sanjeev, Deputy Commissioner of Police. As many as 138 passengers were de-boarded and their luggage was taken off the aircraft following the call. A high alert was sounded at the airport and a bomb squad carried out the checks, before declaring it all clear. The flight was delayed for half an hour.
