Body of missing Noida firm executive found in Ghaziabad

The dead body of the deputy director of a textile firm in Noida was found in the Gang Canal near a village in Ghaziabad on Monday. Initial investigations point to a case of suicide. A suicide note has also been found in his abandoned car, say police officials. 'The victiom has mentioned financial crisis as the reason behind his taking this extreme step,’ said Preetinder Singh, senior Superintendent of police in Noida.

Vivek Gupta, a deputy director in Obra Textile Company in sector 20 Noida went missing last Friday, after he left his office to visit a bank in the neighbourhood.

According to police, his car was recovered on Sunday on the banks of the Gang Canal in the Niwari police station area of Ghaziabad. The police also recovered a suicide note and his mobile from the car. Divers were employed to search the Canal, and on Monday evening, his body was taken out from the canal, which is under the jurisdiction of the Mussoorie police station area in Ghaziabad.

His relatives have identified the body and it has been sent for post mortem examination.

Gupta is a resident of Krishna Vista Apartment in the Indirapuram area, approximately 30 km away from where his body was discovered.
