Update: 2014-11-17 23:46 GMT
The body of an unidentified man, cut into parts with the head missing, was found outside a general store near south-east Delhi’s Dakshinpuri area on Sunday morning. It was the owner of the shop who discovered the body inside a sack lying in front of his shop and called the police.

According to police, the matter was reported by a resident of Dakshinpuri who has a general store in lane 13 at around 8 am when he went to open his shop and found a sack with blood stains and called up the police control room. Police officials rushed to the spot immediately and when they opened the sack, they discovered the lower portion of a human body in it.

Soon, another sack was discovered by a resident from a place not very far off from the general store, which too had blood stains.  When it was opened, police found a human torso in it.  However, the head of the deceased is still missing.

‘It seems that it is the body of a young man aged around 25 years. We checked all the pockets, but no document, which could establish his identity, was found,’ said Mandeep Singh Randhawa, Deputy Commissioner of Police (south-east). He further said: ‘it is clearly a case of murder and the accused tried their best to hide the identity of the deceased.’

The police are still looking for the missing head in areas around Dakshinpuri, and a message has been sent out to all police stations to look out for missing report of a man aged around 25 years.
‘The body must have been dropped there on the wee hours of Sunday, as there were people around the spot till late Saturday night and nothing as such was reported. So we are interrogating locals to find out if any of them had seen anything or heard any sound which could be connected with the incident,’ said DCP Randhawa.

He also said that the body was not in a decomposed state, which means the unidentified man was killed either on Saturday, or late Friday night at the most. ‘A case of murder has been registered at the Ambedkar Nagar police station and it is being investigated,’ he added.
