Giri said that people have been suffocated by the ‘misrule of Congress’ and also felt that they were ‘cheated’ by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He claimed that the ‘AAP wave’ in Delhi is a thing of the past.
He further said that there is a fight between Congress and AAP for attaining second position as BJP is all set to win these elections.
Art of Living practitioner Mahesh Giri was nominated as the BJP candidate from East Delhi constituency, which is considered a stronghold of sitting Congress MP Sandeep Dikshit. Giri has been the International Director of Art of Living and a member of the BJP for the past one year.
On his campaign trail, Giri told Millennium Post that Congress will be his main challenger and dismissed AAP’s presence. Giri reached out to supporters, who assembled in the Kondli area to support him. On his way out of the locality, amid pro-BJP slogans, Giri was full of confidence that his image as a social worker and the ‘Modi factor’ will impress voters. He covered the areas of Kondli, Rajbir colony, Gharoli area on Thursday.
He further said that since the assembly elections in December 2013, his party cadres have become more dedicated and are conducting door to door campaigns, which will bring garner greater support for the party.
He said that Sandeep Dikshit completely ignored the Kondli,Gharoli, Rajbir colony and new Ashok Nagar areas. He stated that there is no metro network here. ‘The roads are in pathetic condition. How he can claim that he had developed these areas?’ asked Giri.
