Struggling over the mathematics to achieve the magic figure, former BJP president Nitin Gadkari, while interacting with the media persons categorically ‘ruled out’ the speculation of horse trading.
‘Our party will try its level best to give a stable government to the people who voted for us. Let it be in a normal course. Just wait and watch,’ Gadkari, who is also in charge for the Delhi elections, said.
The election results, which shook the entire nation with unexpected number of votes shared by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), created a hung assembly for Delhi. Gadkari’s statement came amid much speculation from political entrepreneurs that the party will go for an adjustment.
He said, ‘We are hopeful to come out with a solution. We will try our level best to give an alternative to the people of Delhi by forming a government under the leadership of our popular leader Harsh Vardhan ji. People voted and trusted our party and now it is our responsibility to give a popular government them’.
On the context of considering support from the AAP to end this impasse, Gadkari said, ‘In this current political situation such question does not arise. Also, we have not received any proposal from their side as well.’
‘It is a fact that we don’t have the majority to go ahead with the formation of the government. We will not disturb other parties who are not ready to form an alliance with us,’ he said.
Meanwhile, BJP has called a meeting of all its elected MLAs to elect the leader of party in the legislature on Tuesday morning. The meeting will be presided over by Delhi BJP election incharge Nitin Gadkari among others.
The party has also called a meeting of defeated candidates on Tuesday afternoon to analyse the cause of their defeat.
