Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday lambasted BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) for allegedly using Delhi Police to harass its workers. Four AAP workers were detained by the police for pasting party posters on Monday morning in Malviya Nagar area in South Delhi.
‘The Delhi Police has become a puppet in the hands of BJP. It is acting like a dictator. The police are harassing our party workers by arresting them for pasting posters on walls and claim that we are defacing public property.
‘You take a walk across the city and one can see posters of Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and BJP everywhere.
So why is the BJP only targeting the Aam Aadmi Party,’ said senior party leader Sanjay Singh.
The leaders of AAP are raising questions as to why is Delhi Police differentiating between AAP and BJP workers.
‘We are also against defacement, but if you want to implement the law, then rules should be same for everyone,’ Sisodia said.
Meanwhile, the party has decided to hold a rally at Jantar Mantar on 3 August demanding dissolution of Delhi assembly and push the government for holding fresh elections in the city.
AAP’s state unit secretary Dilip Pandey and four AAP workers were also recently arrested for allegedly inciting hatred by posting inflammatory posters.
