Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Anil Jain on Wednesday announced a month-long programme, titled Vikas Parv, to highlight the achievements of the Narendra Modi government in the past two years. Thirty-three teams, headed by one Cabinet minister and one Minister of State, will carry out the programme in 158 cities, he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants his Cabinet colleagues to reach out to the people, highlighting the
NDA government's achievements. Jain said that the Union ministers would address rallies, press conferences and meetings with “youths” and “intellectuals” at locations assigned to them.

Jain said BJP chief Amit Shah would participate in the Vikas Parv in Hyderabad on May 28. He added
that Shah would also interact with people in Imphal, Shillong and three cities in UP.

One of the teams, comprising Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, MoS Upendra Kushwaha and Rajya Sabha MP Prabhat Jha, will participate in programmes in Lucknow on May 27.

After the thumping Assam victory, the BJP-led Centre is giving the maximum importance to UP in view of the upcoming Assembly elections. PM Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh are expected to address a rally on May 26 in Saharanpur.

Jain, who is working at the party headquarters to give final touches to the event and rallies of Cabinet ministers and senior BJP leaders, said: "All MPs have been directed to spend at least a night in their respective constituencies."

He also talked about a few programmes scheduled for May 27. “Home Minister Rajnath Singh will address a programme in Delhi, External Affairs Minister Sushma Sawraj and MoS Parliamentry Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi will address a rally in Jaipur, while Minister of Urban Development, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation and Parliamentary Affairs Venkaiah Naidu will do so in Bengaluru.”

Asked about the programme at the India Gate on May 28, which superstar Amitabh Bachchan is likely to host, Jain said: “It is not the BJP’s scheduled programme.”
