He claimed that Delhi BJP has targeted to win 60+ seats in the upcoming Delhi assembly, for which strategies are being worked out at each and every level.
‘In the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections we had won 60 assembly seats and party is making all efforts to hold voters on all these seats and get its maximum MLAs elected,’ said Satish Upadhyay.
However, the dates of the elections are yet to be announced but like other political parties in the city, BJP has also began their preparations. On Monday Upadhyay addressed two Awahan rallies each in New Delhi and Karolbagh areas. ‘Ensuing assembly elections give us an opportunity to give the PM a return gift in the form of Delhi Vijay,’ exhorted Upadhyay to the workers in the public meetings. He credited the earlier victory on the hard work of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said the workers should work harder for the return gift.
Earlier, a meeting of public representatives – councillors, MLAs, MPs Delhi and district presidents of Delhi unit was held at party’s state office. BJP’s organisational secretary Vijay Sharma gave a target to district presidents to enrol 1,763 booth incharge members by 15 December.
BJP’s national president Amit Shah will take a meeting of all the important office bearers and party workers in the Delhi BJP office on Tuesday afternoon. The meeting is being seen as mammoth exercise of the party to devise strategy for upcoming Delhi assembly elections.
