A man was killed and another injured in central Delhi after their motorcycle collided with the wall of the Salimgarh bypass flyover at a sharp turn in dense fog, police said on Monday. Vikas Lavania (23), who was riding pillion, was rushed to the hospital and he told the police that he was accompanied by his cousin Bhuvneshvar Upadhyay (28) who was riding the motorcycle, police said.

A search was conducted and Bhuvneshwar’s body was found in the bushes a few hours later, they added. The incident happened in the wee hours yesterday when Vikas and Bhuvneshvar were on a bike, a senior police officer said. Bhuvneshwar was riding the bike and was overspeeding as the road was empty. In the dense fog, he couldn’t see the wall while negotiating the turn and his bike collided with it and then fell from the flyover, police said. Bhuvneshwar was wearing a helmet that was thrown off his head as an impact of the accident, while Vikas wasn’t wearing a helmet.
