New Delhi: A strong earthquake measuring 6.1 on Ritcher scale jolted Afghanistan, Pakistan and parts of north India at 5:34 pm on Saturday.
Mild tremors were felt in north India, the first reports coming from Delhi-NCR and Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district. No casualty or damage was reported from India. The Delhi-NCR tremors lasted a few seconds.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said, the epicentre of the quake was the Hindu Kush mountain range, which stretches near the Afghan-Pakistan border, from central Afghanistan to northern Pakistan.
