New Delhi/Srinagar: The restrictions placed after the revocation of the state's special status under Article 370 was necessary to prevent any civilian casualties in Jammu and Kashmir, said Governor Satya Pal Malik on Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference, he said a massive recruitment drive will take place in the state in the next 2-3 months. Assuring the people of peace in the state, Malik said normalcy will soon return to the Valley.
His presser came hours after the Supreme Court issued a notice to the Centre on Jammu and Kashmir press freedom issue and Article 370 pleas.
Malik admitted that pellet guns were used during protests in the Valley but said forces took utmost precaution to prevent any injuries. He said most of the pellet injuries were below the waist.
On the communication restrictions in the state, the J&K Governor said the Internet is a handy tool for anti-national elements and the restoration of connections will be deferred for some more time.
