New Delhi: Hoping that the construction work will resume soon, the Amrapali flat buyers have said they want possession of their flats as early as possible. The buyers, who have been hanging around since last few years due to the builder's apathy, expressed their happiness over the Supreme Court's spanner over the errant builder but maintained that their actual demand is possession of the flats.

"Our main demand is still a distant dream as we have yet not sure when the construction work is going to start as it requires initial amount. The errant builder is playing delay tactics throughout the court's hearing resulting in the delay of the whole process. Considering the circumstance, we will urge the court to look after initial funding issue either by asking NBCC to fund it of fastening the whole process," said Indish Gupta, founder member of NEFOWA which is the petitioner in court.

Notably, NBCC had earlier given a proposal for completion of 15 residential projects of Amrapali having 46,575 flats at an estimated cost of Rs 8,500 crore in six to 36 months but issue of initial funding surfaces later.
