NCP leader Ramvir Singh Bidhuri on Thursday alleged gross irregularities in regularisation of 895 unauthorised colonies in the city and demanded a high-level probe into the entire process.
Bidhuri, a former MLA, alleged a number of colonies which came up on private land have been ‘erroneously’ categorised as colonies on government land. ‘A high-level probe should be ordered to find out how the wrong list of colonies was approved for regularisation,’ he said.
Delhi government had regularised 895 colonies on 5 September. Out of the total colonies, 320 are on private land while remaining colonies came up on government land. The government has decided to allow sale and purchase of properties in colonies on private land in a day or two while such permission for colonies on government land will be allowed after the occupants pay the land cost to the authorities.
Government had issued provisional regularisation certificates to over 1,639 unauthorised colonies ahead of assembly polls in 2008. The then government had promised to regularise the colonies.
