Boxing India (BI) has been cleared by the Union sports ministry as the new governing body for the sport, BI said on Friday. “Boxing India (BI), a recognised member of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) receives clearance of the name ‘Boxing India’ by Sports Ministry, Government of India,” BI said in a statement. “The registration is a stepping stone in expediting the administrative formalities and streamlining the overall functioning and activities of Boxing India,” said BI president Sandeep Jajodia.
