Demanding resignation of Delhi police commissioner Neeraj Kumar, Aam AAdmi Party leader Prashant Bhushan on Monday levelled serious allegations against him, claiming that there had been allegations of corruption against Kumar during his previous role as joint director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Bhushan also said that Kumar has links with controversial businessman Abhishek Verma.
Reacting to the allegations, Delhi police has said that Prashant Bhushan has made false, scurrilous and defamatory allegations against the commissioner. It termed Bhushan’s allegations as baseless, unfounded and ludicrous, with the sole intention of besmirching Kumar’s personal integrity, reputation and competence.
‘These allegations are at the behest of persons who have been arrayed as accused in investigations conducted under his supervision during his tenure in the CBI,’ a Delhi police statement said.
