Out of the 10,340 mw of capacity addition in financial year 2012-13 by Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (Bhel), the company’s Power Sector-Northern Region (PS-NR) construction division contributed 2,053 MW.
This includes addition of 1,654 MW in Utility sets, 259 mw from overseas projects and 120 MW from Renovation & Modernisation (R&M) projects. Utility sets were commissioned at Jhajjar, Parichha, Harduaganj, Bawana, Ramgarh and Chutak while the generating capacity of Bhatinda Unit-3 was enhanced from 110 to 120 mw under the R&M programme. In the international market, Bhel's PS-NR commissioned a record 259.5 mw at Libya, Vietnam and Tajikistan.
