Kolkata: The state government has declared Saturday (August 16), a holiday under the National Instruments Act, on account of Janmashtami.
In the list of holidays released in November 2024, the holiday of Janmashtami had coincided with August 15 holiday on account of Independence Day. The Finance department issued a notification on Thursday stating that on the basis of available information, August 16 will be a holiday.
