Kolkata: A notorious criminal from Uttar Pradesh (UP), who is also a furlough jumper from Tihar Correctional Home, was arrested from Ripon Street by the Delhi Police with assistance from the Kolkata Police on Tuesday.
According to sources, on Tuesday a team from Delhi Police, Special Cell approached the Park Street Police Station seeking assistance to arrest a wanted criminal. The Delhi Police team informed that they have tracked a notorious criminal of UP identified as Sohrab who is also a furlough jumper from Tihar Correctional Home in Park Street area. Immediately, a police team from the Park Street Police Station started tracking Sohrab using manual sources and technical assistance.
Soon the suspect was spotted hiding in a house on Ripon Street. Around 2:30 pm, a joint team of Delhi Police and Park Street Police Station conducted a raid at 94 Ripon Street and nabbed Sohrab. He will be produced at the court with a prayer for his transit remand by the Delhi Police on Wednesday.
