Paharbari: Two injured in road mishap
Raiganj: Nihar Ranjan Roy (48) was seriously injured when a speeding bike hit him in Paharbari under Karandighi police station area of North Dinajpur on Tuesday night. The bike rider Bhim Singh (30) also received serious wounds. They are undergoing treatment in Raiganj Medical College and Hospital.
Malda: GRP seize 900 Phensedyl bottles
Malda: Acting on a tip-off, a team of GRP police raided platform number one of Malda Town Railway Station and recovered around 900 bottles of Phensedyl worth approximately Rs 1.9 lakhs from five luggage bags on Tuesday night. The accused were waiting to transport the consignment to Balurghat, from where it was to be smuggled into Bangladesh through the Hili border. Police have identified the accused as Raju Kumar, Ramesh Kumar, and Vikas Kumar, all hailing from Bihar. “We are investigating the source of the Phensedyl and the smuggling network,” said a senior GRP official.
