Kasba councillor attack case: One more held

Kolkata: Another miscreant involved in the attempted attack on Kasba councillor Sushanta Ghosh was arrested on Sunday morning from the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport in Kolkata.

During the investigation several arrests were made and subsequently the name of a person Md. Adil Hussein of Lohia of Jamui in Bihar cropped up. It was also learnt that he had a local hideout in Kolkata at 36/D/7E Topsia Road. However, he remained untraced. Meanwhile, police learnt that Hussein had left for Abu Dhabi in the Middle East. Accordingly, a look out circular was issued against him.

On Sunday, Hussein landed at Kolkata airport. During the immigration process, concerned officials found that a look out circular was active on his passport. He was detained and handed over to the NSCBI Airport Police Station. Later, the Kolkata Police was informed. Cops from Anti Rowdy Squad of the Kolkata Police detective department reached NSCBI Airport Police Station and took Hussein in their custody following the necessary documentation process. Ghosh was targeted on November 15 evening when he was sitting with a few other people outside his residence. Two persons riding on a scooter arrived there and the youth, sitting on the pillion, got down and tried to shoot the councillor from point-blank range but the firearm malfunctioned.
