Two dead in bike accident
Raiganj: Ananda Barman (38) died when a speeding bike hit him on the road at Ramnath Para of the Hemtabad police station area of North Dinajpur district on Monday morning. The bike rider Yeakat Ali (23), a resident of Koatgram in Hemtabad, also succumbed to injuries at Raiganj Medical College & Hospital later.
Construction Worker Electrocuted in Dhupguri
JALPAIGURI: A construction worker, Yusuf Ali of West Magurmari Bari, died in an accident in Dakbanglow Para, Ward No. 12, Dhupguri town. He was electrocuted after a bamboo pole at a construction site touched a live electric wire. Yusuf collapsed immediately and was rushed to Dhupguri Sub-Divisional Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Police and fire brigade personnel visited the site following the incident. The body has been sent to Jalpaiguri Sadar Hospital for autopsy, and an investigation is underway.
