West Bengal will earn a revenue of Rs 19,312 crore over a period of 30 years out of Rs 3,00,000 crore the coal-bearing states will stand to gain from the recent coal block auction.

"The total benefit for West Bengal will be Rs 19,312 crore and the amount will come over the next 30 years or before, depending on the life of the mines," Coal Secretary Anil Swarup said.

He said the amount was inclusive of royalty and cess also. The Centre was working a proper contract model in place before it starts auctioning commercial coal mines.

Swarup said that a mine developer and operator broad draft had been prepared and it was sent for legal vetting. "After that we will send this to state governments for selection of MDOs," he said.
