Bangladesh invites Mamata Banerjee

Update: 2015-01-05 22:46 GMT
The Bangladesh government has invited West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to visit the neighbouring country.

A highly-placed state government source told PTI that an invitation came on Saturday through official channels to visit Bangaldesh from February 19-22.

The timing coincides with ‘Bhasha Diwas’ which is observed every year on February 21 to pay
tribute to language martyrs in Bangladesh.

Recently Bangladesh Finance Minister Abdul Muhith, on a visit to Kolkata, had hoped that Banerjee will visit their country soon.

Bangladesh President Md Abdul Hamid had recently met the Trinamool supremo during his India visit.
