The audience were reeling in trance by listening to the melodies sung by the renowned Bangladeshi Rabindra Sangeet exponent on Monday.
The program was arranged by the Bangladesh High Commission in the national Capital and a large number of diplomats, high officials and 1971-war veterans attended the event. The chief guest on the occasion was Dr Nazma Heptullah, Minister for Minority Affairs of India.
While welcoming the august gathering, Syed Muazzem Ali, Bangladesh High Commissioner to India, highlighted the invaluable contribution of Tagore in the evolution of Bengali literature. “Tagore immortal creations will remain ever relevant in the lives of all Bengalis,” he said.
Chief guest Dr Nazma Heptullah mentioned the attachment of the people from both the countries to the works of Rabindranath Tagore. She emphasized that the creations of the great poet Rabindranath Tagore has passed the test of time and brought the souls of the people of the two countries closer in a common bond of friendship.
