Harsharan Singh Balli, who fought the 2013 Delhi assembly elections on a Congress ticket and lost, returned to the BJP on Tuesday ahead of the state polls.

Along with Balli, AAP leader Ashwani Upadhyay and Congress youth leader Deepak Kumar also joined the BJP along with their supporters. ‘We are open for leaders of all other parties who want to join BJP without any ‘condition’,’ said Prabhat Jha, incharge of Delhi BJP. He emphasised that BJP’s doors are not closed for any leader who wants to contribute in the national building and its development mission of the Narendra Modi. ‘I will work for the party as an obedient solider. I will work for anybody whosoever is given ticket from party on Hari Nagar assembly segment,’ said Balli when asked if he had joined BJP on assurance of the ticket.

‘Quitting Congress was my fault and I corrected it by rejoining BJP,’ he added justifying his political move. Quitting BJP proved to be a wrong political move both for Balli and BJP as Balli who contested on Congress ticket lost the election while BJP lost Hari Nagar assembly seat to AAP.
