‘Azhar is not a biopic’

Tony D’souza confirmed, “Azhar is a not a biopic, it is based on the time and events in the life of Azharudin”.

Emraan shared facts, like how Azharuddin’s grandfather had prophesied him playing in the Indian cricket team, talking about new facts that he had learned from the former cricketer.

When asked about his experience working with Nargis Fakhri, the Jannat actor said, “She’s very glamorous and that’s half the battle won, when you are portraying the character of Sangeeta Bijlani. Prachi is playing a more traditional woman like Naureen, juxtaposed with Sangeeta, who comes from the limelight and that’s where the characters contradict each other. I think Nargis has done a fine job.”

When asked to share a memorable incident during the shooting of Azhar, Prachi  said, “One of my favourite days during the shoot was when Abbas (Azharuddin’s son) was teaching me how to play cricket, in Hydrabad.

All the women in the crew were in one team while he was alone in the other team and yet he won the game! It is one of those days that I’ll always remember  since I wouldn’t be going out on the field otherwise.”
