Ayushmann: we all do nautanki

Ayushmann Khurrana says that his next film Nautanki Saala is unique in the sense that the plot revolves around theatre, something no film has ever taken seriously.

‘It’s also quirky like Vicky Donor, and quite out-of-the-box. We are talking about theatre. None of the films has taken theatre very seriously, but we have and we have shot in a theatre. It is very unique,’ the 28-year-old said here Tuesday at the music launch of the film.

Directed by Rohan Sippy, Nautanki Saala also stars Kunal Roy Kapur, Pooja Salvi and Evelyn Sharma. It hits theatres 12 April.

Ayushmann believes that nautanki or drama is part of everyone’s life. ‘I think nautanki is something everyone does and if we don’t do it, then there would be no fun in life. We do some kind of a drama everyday, or lie to our teachers, in front of our directors or co-actor. So I think it’s all part of the game,’ he said.
