Lord Ganesha, one of the most auspicious Hindu deities is worshiped before any god or goddess in Hindu mythology. He stands for progress, prosperity, wisdom and also as remover of obstacles. The values and symbolisms conveyed by him are also universal like, the big ears says listen carefully, open palms symbolise acceptance, the rat symbolises that we have the capacity to overcome the hurdles faced in our daily existence and so on.
Group of painters have collaborated to present an exhibition which is devoted to Ganesha depicting all his messages through their art work. This art exhibition portrays exquisite vivid forms of Ganesha, magnificent texture and myriad hues, platforms the creativity of well-known artist’s from different parts of India.
Painters captured various forms of Ganesha in various postures - sitting, standing, with two arms or sixteen. In some of the paintings his pot belly, the elephant head replete with a broken tusk symbolises replacement of the ‘I’ with ‘we’.
Some pieces show with a bowl of his favorite sweets called Modakas by his side and a rat next to him.
Some painters depict him as husband of Riddhi-Siddhi who are symbols for intelligence themselves. In some paintings, the god is shown with his children Shubh and Labh symbolising prosperity and wealth. This charity exhibition is compiled by more than 25 artists. Drop in this weekend.
