The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Friday launched a mobile application – ‘SDMC Third Eye’ to enable citizens to lodge civic complaints ‘on the go.’ The citizens can file complaints, give suggestion through their mobile by downloading the android-based mobile application. The application also allows citizens to send photos and a short video of the spot for which the complaint is to be filed. The complaint will automatically be directed to the concerned department. ‘It will be ensured that the concerned officials takes necessary action in a time-bound manner’, said Satish Upadhyaya, chairman of standing committee in SDMC.
The app will mainly include problems related to sanitation, health, parks, roads and education. However, Upadhyaya informed that ‘if we receive any complaint which is not under SDMC’s purview it will be directed to the concerned authority such as Delhi Jal Board or PWD.’
The SDMC has also introduced slew of other ways for citizens to file their grievances. He will hold public hearing sessions on 1st and 15th of every month at his office.
It will install complaints boxes at each zonal offices and headquarter where general public and employees of corporation can also drop suggestions or complaints.
