Authorities are keeping a close watch on a 29-year-old Saharanpur man who flew in from Nigeria and is suspected for deadly Ebola virus. This is the second Ebola scare in Delhi so far.
‘A man was brought to Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) hospital with symptoms of fever and diarrhoea. His blood sample has been taken to National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). We are waiting for reports and only then we will confirm it,’ said HK Kar, medical superintendent, of RML hospital.
Union health minister Harsh Vardhan ordered another review meeting on Monday between officers of various concerned departments with the representatives of World Health Organisation.
‘There is no case of Ebola virus in India so far,’ said Vardhan. Meanwhile, Ebola helpline that was launched on 9 August has received over 400 calls till now. Most of the calls are regarding the queries related to Ebola disease.
