A US-based not-for-profit organisation which provides tuition-free school for children born into extreme poverty has received an anonymous donation of $210,000 to create a stipend fund for female graduates in Bangalore.
The fund received to create an endowment that will provide stipend to Christel House India-Bangalore female graduates while they pursue college and careers has been named Vidya Maanini-Kannada for ‘young girl full of knowledge,’ a statement issued here said.
“Our donor is passionate about providing opportunities and empowerment for our female students in India for many years to come,” Christel DeHaan, founder and CEO of Indianapolis-based Christel House International, said.
“We say a heartfelt thank you,” DeHaan said.
