The Noida Police on Thursday registered a case against a student of Amity University for allegedly molesting a student and harassing her physically.
The police said that the incident took place in the presence of other students as class was going on at that time when the accused entered in between and started harassing her. The cops added that both the victim and the accused were friends earlier but had separated over a personal tiff, following which the boy, a former student of same university, was stalking her.
Meanwhile, sources claimed that the accused belonged to a rich family.
According to them, the incident took place on Wednesday noon when the girl was inside the classroom attending her class. The accused, Ankit, approached her in the presence of other students.
After a heated argument, he slapped her publicly and after the students resisted, he darted out of the classroom with the girl’s cell phone. The victim followed Ankit outside the campus where he allegedly dragged her inside his SUV and molested her. He again thrashed the girl threatening her with dire consequences if she did not resume friendship.
The girl’s family approached the police to lodge a complaint but there was no action from their end initially. Later, a case was registered at Sector 39 police station. The family, in its complaint, alleged that Ankit had sexually assaulted the victim.
The police, however, have lodged the complaint but no arrest has been made. The cops have even denied molestation charges claiming that there is no such evidence recorded in the CCTV footage inside the campus.
Meanwhile, the victim’s family has blamed police inaction due to family pressure of the accused. Shockingly, the police are also not willing to disclose proper details of the accused and his family despite registering an FIR.
