The co-driver of a private ambulance succumbed to his injuries when a Scorpio car hit an ambulance van on Sunday midnight. The ambulance van was a private vehicle that ESIC hospital in Sector 9-A had hired to shift the patient.
According to the information received from the police, the ambulance was carrying five people including a driver, a co-driver, a heart patient and two accompanies.
The 45-year-old heart patient was referred to another private hospital when the ambulance was hit on Jharsa Road near the Gurgaon-Jaipur Expressway.
Police also said that according to the eye witnesses, driving right behind the ambulance, the driver of the Scorpio had run into the ambulance as it was over-speeding.
An FIR was registered at the Civil Lines police station against the unidentified driver of the Scorpio car.
“We are trying to trace the registration number of the Scorpio car and have registered a case against the driver under the hit and run case,” said Jogender Yadav, the Investigating Officer of the case.
The deceased, identified as Udeep Narayan Saha (24) was known to hail from Bihar and was presently residing near Jharsa village in Gurgaon.
