Days after arresting the accused involved in an American lady’s gang-rape case, the Delhi Police cops are now investigating a German woman’s complaint who said she was molested and she survived a rape attempt while she was in India. The alleged incident happened in November last year at Delhi’s posh Hauz Khas.

A German research scholoar has alleged that she survived a rape attempt by her landlord while she was in Hauz Khas area of South Delhi on November 30, 2016. She left the country days after the incident.

The German woman then approached the DCW and lodged a complaint on December 5. Delhi Police registered a case after DCW forwarded the complaint to the cops.

“We have written an e-mail to the victim requesting her to come to India and record her statement before the magistrate for further investigation in the case. A reminder mail was also dropped on Saturday. We are hopeful that she will come to India to record her statement,” said Additional DCP (South) Chinmoy Biswas.

The woman has alleged that the landlord pushed himself on her while she was at his house. She further alleges that the man took advantage as his family was not home at the time of the incident.

He talked to her regarding her research work but later switched topic to personal issues. After a while he tried to force himself on her. The woman escaped after the child of the accused came to the house. The victim then called her friends and later approached DCW to file a complaint.

The police have registered a case under IPC Section 354 and 509 and are now waiting for the woman to come to India and record her statement. The cops are yet to make any arrest in the incident.
