ACB registers FIR against lady inspector

Anti-Corruption Branch of the city government on Wednesday registered an FIR against a lady inspector of Delhi Police for allegedly demanding bribe. The ACB’s move came after a complaint was received at the Anti-Corruption Helpline, 1031, in this regard.

The accused inspector has been identified as Rajkumari posted at Dwarka North police station.

“During preliminary enquiry, it was found that the husband of complainant was murdered and inspector Rajkumari was the Investigation Officer of this case.

“The IO has been demanding money from the complainant by threatening her to implicate and arrest her for the murder of her husband,” Surender Singh Yadav, Additional Commissioner of Police (ACB), said in statement.

Boosted by the launch of helpline 1031, complainant recorded the conversation of such a demand in her mobile phone.

“The inspector was demanding Rs 2 lakh from the complainant and after hectic negotiations with 
the complainant, she agreed to settle for Rs 75,000,” Yadav said.
