Within 24 hours of the launch of Delhi Dialogue, an initiative of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to connect with people on issues that concern their lives, social media platforms for this programme have received an encouraging response and the team is now moving forward to the next step of the series.
‘Delhi Dialogue and Youth Dialogue were among the top three India Twitter trends during the weekend. Following the successful and highly enthusiastic launch of the Youth Dialogue, the Aam Aadmi Party’s Delhi Dialogue team is now preparing for the next step – Initiatives for women – which will be unveiled on 26 November, the second foundation day of the AAP,’ said a party spokesperson.
‘The results so far have been highly encouraging. The Facebook page has around 27,000 likes with a total views of more than 1.2 lakh, so far. The website has received 20,000 hits and the Twitter handle has nearly 4,300 followers with mentions and re-tweets (RTs) by more 25,000 people. There have been thousands of registrations on the website and hundreds of discussions on the Delhi Dialogue discuss forums,’ he added.
In just a few days, the online properties related to Delhi Dialogue have gained more encouragement than major governance initiatives in the country. The consultative process of deliberations with experts, academics, professionals, think tanks and research institutions to draw out a concrete and realistic plan for Delhi will be intensified in the coming days. ‘We have spoken to experts on education, jobs, skill development, employment, sports, culture, leisure, entertainment, technology and every other issue that affects the youth. As a part of our 50 point blue-print for Delhi, we have shortlisted five great ideas for the youth of Delhi. It is a dynamic list that is open to suggestions, ideas and revisions,’ he said.
