Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday wrote a letter to the Lieutenant Governor (LG) Najeeb Jung, on the issue of unreasonable charges for the conversion of plots to freehold in resettlement colonies. The letter was handed over to the Jung by another AAP leader Manish Sisodia.
Former education and PWD minister, Manish Sisodia handed over the letter, in which it has been demanded that the rates fixed in the recently announced scheme of the Delhi administration are beyond the reach of poor people.
Kejriwal in his letter has pointed out that rates for conversion of plots in resettlement colonies should be within the reach of residents living there. AAP has demanded that these charges should be fixed at Rs 10,000 for the original allottees and Rs 50,000 for any subsequent transaction.
The L-G discussed the matter with Sisodia and said he will look into the matter. The AAP has decided to include this demand in its election manifesto for the possible assembly elections coming up in Delhi and it will implement it on being voted to power.
Meanwhile, Sisodia also raised the questions over the vacant lands of DDA which have been turned into a dumping zone. Two vacant plots of DDA near Lal Bahadur Shashtri hospital and the wine shops in Chander Vihar, high tenson wires at Mandawali area, which have made the life miserable in his constituency Patparganj’, complained Sisodia.
