With the aggressive campaigning to make people aware about anti-corruption help-line ‘1031’, the AAP-led government on Monday decided to relaunch it on April 5 in Talkatora Stadium here. All the Delhi MLAs and MPs will be invited along with an open invitation to the people of Delhi.
“The purpose of re-launching this help-line is to create fear in the mind of every corrupt individual. Such people should fear that they might be under fear,” an officer said.
A few weeks ago, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia had briefed the media after a Cabinet meeting. This is the same helpline which was launched during the last AAP government of 49-days.
“ The help-line makes every Delhi citizen an anti-corruption crusader. People must start recording incidents about bribes. Later on the government will take action against the culprits,” another officer said. The help-line staffs are being given a proper training to handle large number of calls that the helpline is expected to get. According to the Chief Minister Office sources, the ‘1031’ number will be operational from April 5 after the launch and the officials will begin taking speedy action on complaints received against any corrupt officer.
During the 49-day AAP government, 1.2 lakh calls were received on the anti-corruption help-line ‘1031’. It included, one case of sting operation against a government official.
