AAP cadres shift focus to Delhi

In a bid to repeat their performance in last year’s assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) cadres have shifted their focus to national capital again. All senior party leaders and cadres are coming back to Delhi to campaign for their candidates.

While the Congress and BJP have been very aggressive in their election campaign so far, AAP is yet to establish momentum in Delhi.  AAP has started mobilising volunteers in Delhi and Arvind Kejriwal started his road-shows in Delhi from Monday onwards.

‘Majority of AAP cadres went to Varanasi, Amethi, Gurgaon and Ghaziabad to support the senior AAP leaders including Arvind Kejriwal. But Delhi is going to have  elections on 10 April and our cadres have special attachment to Delhi and a majority of them are coming back here to work for the party. Many of our cadres are coming in from Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh’, said a senior party leader.

‘AAP’s top leaders divide time between Delhi and at the national level. The party has already directed its MLAs and other representatives to hold meetings for showcasing the AAP government’s achievements during its 49-day rule’, the leader added.
