On Saturday, breaking all political barriers, the man behind the Aam Aadmi Party leaders took the Metro to Ramlila Maidan for his swearing-in ceremony.

Such a scene, never witnessed before, was enough to bring oceans of people at Kaushambhi Metro station, which is close to Kejriwal’s residence. They all wanted a glimpse of their ‘Nayak’.

‘Kejriwal zindabad. AAP party zindabad,’ slogans filled the air as a large number of people gathered around him. ‘Look this is what we were looking for - a common man as our CM,’ was the common refrain.

Some people where lucky to interact with him inside the train, while some were happy clicking his photographs with their cell phones. Most of the travellers appreciated his austerity drive as they interacted with the new chief minister.

Since morning there was a festive mood at Kejriwal’s residence. Some where excited, while some were seen crying out of joy. Around 9.45 am, AAP leaders Manish Sisodia, Kumar Vishwas, Girish Soni reached Kejriwal’s residence. And around 10.35 am before leaving his residence for the swearing-in ceremony, Kejriwal dedicated AAP’s victory to the common man. Soon after, around 10.50 am, Kejriwal reached Kaushambhi Metro Station along with his proposed ministers and was greeted by thousands.

However, Kejriwal’s ride proved to be a major challenge for Metro officials and security personnel had a tough time dealing with the crowd. Senior AAP leader Yogendra Yadav twitted ‘Trying to reach Ramlila ground. Was mobbed and nearly crushed by enthusiastic supporters at Barakhamba Metro Station! (sic).’
