After Korean horror movies, the music from the country is also fast catching up with the youth elsewhere in the world. In the Capital, Korean music is fast becoming popular with students of Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
And if you don’t know what we are talking about yet, we’d say it is time to head to K-Pop & Cover Dance Festival which will take place at the JNU campus soon. This is a part of an initiative to build awareness about the country.
As part of the initiative, there will be contests to showcase one’s talent. Contestants will be judged not just on the basis of songs and choreography but also on the basis of costumes, make-up and style.
To participate, one has to upload a video on their website and those selected will get a chance to perform at the annual Hallyu Dream Festival in Korea. The contest will take place in three stages where contestants of any age can participate.
In the first stage, participants are to reproduce a song and a cover dance choreography by any Korean pop artist, and post it online. Entries are open till 31 July. Ten teams will be selected, who will then take part in the semi-finals on 25 August at JNU Auditorium-I.
The winners will then be flown to Gyeongju, Korea.
