A dose of cleanliness

The Swacch Bharat Abhiyan took a step forward in realising its goal of making the national Capital a much cleaner city. The Imperial Hotel in association with the New Delhi Municipal Corporation(NDMC) and the Rotary Club of Delhi Midtown organised the cleanliness drive on Tuesday.

The aim of the event was to support the health, hygiene and sanitary conditions of the city, which culminated in The Imperial Hotel and the Rotary Club, donating 50 dustbins to the NDMC. The associates of the Imperial garbed in ‘Swacch Bharat Abhiyan’ campaign t-shirts, joined hands with the NDMC safai karamcharis and cleaned the periphery of the hotel as well as the adjoining Janpath bylanes ,while the members of the NDMC performed a street play based on the importance of health, hygiene and sanitation. 

The event was attended by Dr PK Sharma (MOH), NDMC, as well the president of the Rotary Club, Bharat Joshi. Other senior officials as well as the former president of the Rotary Club, Virender Datta were present. The senior executive VP of the Imperial Hotel, Vijay Wanchoo said, “Health and cleanliness go hand in hand and it’s a responsibility of each individual in the country to contribute in this noble initiative.” He also emphasized the importance of taking an initiative from the grass root level as well as to encourage and promote neat and clean surroundings which would make the world a much cleaner and a better place.
