The police on Tuesday detained three people including a defence personnel for allegedly misbehaving with a woman and teasing her in a moving bus at Salt Lake here.
Police said the woman, who is an employee of information technology, boarded a bus from College More at Salt Lake. She was returning home after office. When the woman boarded the bus, the three accused were already present there. According to information, they allegedly passed lewd comments and continued disturbing her. Despite of repeated requests by the woman and her co-passengers, the accused continued passing lewd comments.
Finally, the woman dialed the helpline number 100 and sought help from police. As a result, the officers from the control room of Bidhannagar passed the information to the on-duty policemen. The police stopped the bus near Nicco Park and detained the accused.
During the interrogation, police came to know that the defence personnel was from Allahabad and he came to the city to participate in a volleyball tournament. The woman later lodged a complaint at Bidhannagar South police station.
