9 held in prositution racket

Four women and five men, including three executives of a multi-national company, were arrested for involvement in prostitution, the police said on Tuesday.

A police team headed by inspector Sajjan Singh and sub inspector Rani Devi conducted a raid in a lodge in Sector 39 on Monday night and arrested the nine accused.

All accused, aged between 22 and 28 years, were presented before a court which sent them to judicial custody for 14 days, police said. The accused included the lodge’s manager Girish, who hails from Uttarakhand, and the lodge’s operator Hawa Singh, who hails from Rajasthan, police said.

‘The accused were arrested after a raid on the guest house,’ an official said. ‘Four arrested women were living in different parts of Delhi. The three arrested executives of a private firm are Lalit, Sidharth and Vijay,’ he added.

Lalit hails from Uttar Pradesh, Sidharth from Jharkhand and Vijay from Bihar, police said.
