6,000 students get training in self-defence

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Tuesday stated that girls studying in Delhi government schools have become more competent as they are being imparted training in different martial arts in 60 government schools.

The students are being trained in Karate, Taekwondo, Judo, Wushu, Jeet Kune-do and Sqay Martial by qualified trainers provided by six associations. Each association has been allotted 10 government schools.

In  all, 6000 girls students have learnt various tricks and tips in the martial arts. The students on Tuesday displayed their competence in a function organised at Thyagraj Stadium in the presence of the Chief Minister and other dignitaries.
